Former YC and current Arizona State University outfielder Kole Calhoun (2006-08) was 3 for 4 with a home run, double and an RBI in Tuesday night’s 10-6 loss to #1 ranked University of Texas at the NCAA College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The Buckeye, AZ native is now 4 for 9 with two home runs, four runs batted in and three runs scored in two games.

ASU faces University of North Carolina in an elimination game on Thursday, June 11th. The Sun Devils beat the Tar Heels in the first game of the National Tournament on a walk-off three-run home run hit by Calhoun.

Former YC pitcher/infielder Kirby Yates has signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Rays…Yavapai recruit Carlton Tanabe, Pearl City HI, signed with the Seattle Mariners who drafted him in the 24th Round of the recent MLB amateur draft.
