Calhoun Remains Hot

June 18th, 2009 » filed under: Baseball News

Former Roughrider baseball player Kole Calhoun (2006-08), continued his torrid hitting in the NCAA College World Series driving in six runs with a grand slam and double in #5 Arizona State University’s 12-5 win over #4 University of North Carolina Thursday afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska.

The loss eliminates the Tar Heels from the double elimination tournament. ASU will play #1 University of Texas Friday afternoon.

Calhoun’s grand slam came with the Sun Devils down 4-0 in the fourth inning. It is the Buckeye native’s third round-tripper of the national tournament and his 10th run batted in.
