Blanks, Brown Called Up

Former YC baseball players Kyle Blanks and Dusty Brown find themselves on Major League rosters after being called up from Triple A ball this past week.

Blanks(2005) will join the big league club San Diego Padres after a stint at the AAA Portland Beavers. In Portland, the right-hander was hitting .283 with 12 home runs and 38 runs batted in.

Brown (2001) rejoins the Boston Red Sox from AAA Pawtucket Red Sox. The Prescott Valley, AZ native was called up last season for post-season play. In 47 games with Pawtucket, Brown was hitting .239 with 2 home rns and 14 RBI’s
