Softball Splits With Eastern

The #2 ranked Roughrider softball team split a road doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Eastern Arizona College (16-6, 40-16). YC lost the first game 6-5 and prevailed in the nightcap 7-4. Yavapai remains in first place of the ACCAC with 20-2 record and a 44-3 season clip.
In the first game, Jenna Rodriguez (19-2) lost for only the second time this season. Offensively, Caitlin Stangl was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. Aubri Chiquete was 2 for 3 with a double and Ashley Snedeker, Kacie Smith and Brittany Tucker each collected a hit.
In the nightcap, Audrey Workman got her league leading 21st victory. From the plate, Chiquete was perfect going 3 for 3 with a double. Stangl, Snedeker, Tucker and Ana Castillo each had two hits. Rodriguez was 1 for 4 with a home run and Smith was 1 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
The Roughriders entertain fellow Division I opponent Arizona Western College (19-7, 33-8-1) on Friday, April 3rd. The doubleheader will begin at 12:00 PM.
