The Roughrider softball team remains perfect in the ACCAC standings with a doubleheader sweep this afternoon of Paradise Valley Community College, 10-2 and 12-0. YC is now 29-1 and 12-0 in conference play.
In the opening game, Jenna Rodriguez got her 13th victory of the year behind a mountain of offense led by Caitlin Stangl (4 for 4, double, rbi). Rodriguez was also perfect at the plate (3 for 3, double, rbi). Kacie Smith, Brittany Tucker and Aubrianna Chiquete collected two hits a piece with Tucker hitting the long ball.
In the nightcap, Audrey Workman remained perfect on the season (14-0) tossing her fifth shutout on the year. Stangl was perfect on the day with three hits in three at bats. Rodriguez and Ashley Snedeker were two for three with each hitting a home run. Tatum Day also collected two hits and Sam Roskopf hit a home run with two runs batted in.
Yavapai will play host to Gateway Community College on Tuesday, March 10th at Roughrider Park. The first pitch will be thrown at 12:00 PM.
