Finding themselves down in the top of the 7th inning, Brett Sowers hit a solo home run to tie the home team and YC added another run in the 8th inning to get the victory in the first game.

Kirby Yates started the game on the mound and went four innings allowing three earned runs and three hits while striking out seven. Ian Campbell came on in relief and picked up the win.

From the plate, Ty Forney, Dominic Piazza and Jordan Payne each collected two hits.

Russell Havens picked up the victory in the nightcap allowing only three hits and no earned runs. Riley Welch came on in relief to pitch the final three innings. Forney and Piazza added two more hits a piece and two runs batted in.

Yavapai will play a doubleheader on Saturday at Cochise College in Douglas. Rick Anton and Merrill Kelly will get the nods on the mound. The first pitch will be thrown at 12:00 PM.
