Lady Hoopsters Extend Streak To Four

The Lady Rider basketball team outlasted the Cougars from South Mountain Community College Saturday afternoon in the Storm Center, 80-67. The victory improves Yavapai’s record to 14-10 overall and 10-6 in ACCAC action.

Shooting a whopping 53% from the field in the first half, YC took a 47-37 lead into intermission. However, that lead did not last as SMCC cut the lead to two points with 9 minutes remaining. The Lady Rider defense stepped it up in the final nine minutes of the game and forced the opponent to a 33% shooting stint in the second half. Yavapai out rebounded the Cougars 48-22 with 21 of those coming on the offensive end.

DeAndra Adsitt enjoyed her best game of her collegiate career with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Bjonee Reaves had 20 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Danielle Reiher added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals and Julianne Fortè chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots.

The Lady Riders return to the road on Wednesday, February 11th at Chandler/Gilbert Community College. In December, YC beat up the Coyotes in Prescott, 81-50. Tip-off will be at 5:30 PM.
