Lady Riders Drop First League Game

The Lady Rider basketball team dropped a heartbreaker tonight in the Storm Center to the visiting Arizona Western College Matadors 68-67. YC falls to 2-2 on the regular season and 0-1 in ACCAC play.

With 11 seconds remaining in the game, Arizona Western hit a free throw to put the opponent up by 1 and on the ensuing trip down the court, Yavapai threw the ball away to seal their fate.

Lerrin Cook led the lady hoopsters in scoring with 22 points and Louise Solomon added 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Yavapai travels to Phoenix College on Saturday for an afternoon affair against the Bears. Tip-off will be at 2:00 PM.
