Volleyball Wins Finale

The Lady Rider volleyball team concluded the 2008 season with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-22) victory over Pima Community College Saturday night in Tucson. YC finishes the year with an overall record of 18-18 and 10-8 in the ACCAC.
The Roughriders finished one game out of a play-off berth but finished the season as the hottest team in the conference winning four consecutive and eight out of their final ten matches.
Most conference victories since 1996
The 18-18 record is the first time in 11 years that the Roughriders finished .500. In one year, YC has gone from 12 wins in 2007 to 18 wins this season, the most since 2003 (23-27). The 10 conference victories are the most from a Yavapai team since 1996 (15-1). In only his second season at the helm, head coach Matt Cohen has amassed an overall record of 30-38 and 16-20 in league play.
