Volleyball Falls In Five To The Matadors

Saturday afternoon in Yuma, the Lady Rider volleyball team was close to pulling off the improbable but in the end fell just short as the Lady Matadors from Arizona Western College (6-4, 10-9) came from behind to beat Yavapai 2-3 (25-18, 18-25, 25-18, 20-25 and 13-15). The loss coupled with a Friday night home victory over Chandler/Gilbert Community College (1-6, 3-10) moves the spiker’s record to 3-6 in conference play and 10-16 overall.

The Roughriders have one more match in the first round of ACCAC action on Wednesday, October 1st in the Storm Center against Pima Community College (2-7, 7-12). The match will start at 7:00 PM. The following Friday, YC travels to #6 ranked Glendale Community College and on Saturday, September 4th the ladies will play against former Lady Riders in an alumni event beginning at 2:30 PM.
