YC Soccer Shuts Out The Coyotes

The Roughrider offense can put the ball in the net; however, the defense is no slouch either. This afternoon at Chandler/Gilbert Community College, YC pitched its third straight shutout and sixth on the season with a 3-0 victory over the Coyotes (5-4-0, 5-4-0).

Yavapai has scored 66 goals on the season and only given up a league low of 5. Head Coach Mike Pantalione’s squad stays atop the ACCAC with a 9-0-0 record and an overall mark of 11-0-0.

40-2-1 record in weather above 100 degrees. Third consecutive victory by a margin of 3-0.

Yavapai took a 1-0 lead into halftime and scattered two goals in the second half for the win. The victory puts the heralded program at exactly 399 games over .500. The overall record for the Roughriders is 428-29-13.

Mesa Community College will be the next opponent for the #1 ranked team in the nation on the Thunderbirds home field. The match will be played on Saturday, September 27th and game time will be at 4:30 PM.
