YC Routs Western Nebraska

Roughriders score 38 runs in last two games

After scoring 16 runs in their last outing, the Roughrider bats continued to be hot pounding out 16 hits and 22 runs in a non-conference 22-7 trouncing of the visiting Western Nebraska Community College Cougars. YC improves their overall record to 23-7-1. Their conference mark remains at 15-1, two full games ahead of second place Cochise College (13-3).

Russell Havens (4-1) was the winning pitcher of record throwing six innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts. The offense was led by Dan Duffy (3/3, 4 runs, 2 RBI), Zac Castleberry (3/3, 4 runs, 4 RBI), Jared Norris (3/5, 5 RBI, 2 runs) and Kole Calhoun (3/5, 3 runs, 1 RBI).

Yavapai continues their non-conference schedule Thursday, March 20th against Seminole State College, OK. The doubleheader will be played at Roughrider Park with the first pitch being thrown at 12:00 PM
