MCC Beats The Roughriders

With six games left in the regular season, the Roughrider basketball team is running out of time to secure a spot in the NJCAA Region I Playoff picture.

This afternoon’s game at Mesa Community College did not help matters as the Thunderbirds handled YC, 93-75. Yavapai is now 11-13 and 7-9 and currently sit on the outside looking into the post-season if it were to start tomorrow.

MCC outshot the Roughriders 52% to 42%. Louis Barraza once again led the squad with 28 points and 4 rebounds. Brock Entner added 15 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds and Keith Wilson knocked down 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

PC plays host to Pima Community College on Wednesday, February 13th. Head Coach Howard Brown’s group beat the Aztecs in Tucson earlier in the season, 78-59. Tip-off will be at 7:30 PM in the Storm Center on the campus of Yavapai College in Prescott.
