Solid pitching and timely hitting has been the theme of Head Coach Sky Smeltzer’s baseball squad this season, yesterday the Roughriders were right on task as they swept a doubleheader at Phoenix College by identical 4-1 scores.
Offense cranks four home runs on the day
For the 22nd consecutive year, the Lady Rider basketball team has won twenty games on the season, with the milestone coming last night in Thatcher over Eastern Arizona College, 74-67.
The Roughrider softball team lost their first conference game today by splitting a doubleheader with Glendale Community College in Glendale. YC won the first game 13-8 and lost an extra inning game 5-4 in the nightcap. Yavapai is now 18-4 overall and 7-1 in ACCAC action.
The Roughrider baseball team swept a doubleheader today against Mesa Community College at Roughrider Park, 8-7 and 10-2. YC remains undefeated in conference play at 6-0 and improve to 11-4-1 overall.

The Roughrider men’s basketball team’s hopes of a playoff spot took a hit last night as the Vaqueros from Central Arizona College won 106-104 in the Storm Center.
