Lady Riders Spook The Wolfpack

YC plays without leading scorer Goldsmith. Dunford picks up the void by scoring 30.

The Lady Riders shook off the holiday rust to record their 7th victory on the season over the visiting Madison Area Technical College Wolfpack out of Wisconsin, 87-63 this afternoon at Walraven Gym on the Yavapai campus in Prescott. YC is now 7-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Playing without leading scorer, Tehani Goldsmith, YC scored their third highest offensive output of the season. Yavapai led 35-29 at halftime and erupted for 52 points after intermission. Paris Dunford led the way with her season high of 30 points and 6 rebounds. Ebony Ward played in her first game of the year and had 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. 93 free throws were shot by both teams in the foul marred game.

Yavapai travels to Yuma for the Wells Fargo Classic on January 4th and 5th. YC will face Snow College, UT and South Plains College, TX respectively. On Wednesday, January 9th the lady hoopsters will return to the Storm Center and ACCAC play hosting South Mountain Community College with tip-off at 5:30 PM.
