Roughriders Bounce Back To Beat The Aztecs
The Roughrider basketball team rebounded after a disappointing loss to Mesa on Wednesday to handle Pima Community College on the road last night, 78-59.
YC goes above the .500 mark with a 6-5 overall record and 2-4 in the ACCAC.
Yavapai shot a torrid 54% from the field and 35% from beyond the 3-point line while holding the Aztecs to 36% shooting and a paltry 28% from the 3-point arc.
Once again, Louis Barraza led the Riders in scoring with 23 points. He also added 5 rebounds and 4 assists. In his second game of the season, Brock Entner had 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Jon Black added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Brandon Gentry chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.
The Roughriders return to the hardwood on January 3rd against North Idaho College in Twin Falls, Idaho. Yavapai will return home on Wednesday, January 9th to resume conference play against South Mountain Community College. Tip-off will be at 7:30 PM.
