The Lady Rider basketball team got back on the winning track with a 96-80 victory over Phoenix College tonight in the Storm Center. The win snaps a 3-game losing streak, the longest in Head Coach Brad Clifford’s career. YC is now 2-4 overall and more significantly, 1-0 in ACCAC action.

Yavapai jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead, 59-40. However, PC would not be outdone as they outscored the lady hoopsters 40-37 in the second half. Behind the scoring from Tehani Goldsmith and Jonisha Carson YC held for the 16 point margin.

Goldsmith led the scoring barrage with 27 points. She also led the squad with 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Carson had a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists. Brandi Cook added 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. Rachael Beck chipped in 12 points and 4 rebounds.

Yavapai continues the conference schedule on Saturday, December 1st against Glendale Community College in a rare afternoon game. Tip-off will be at 2:00 PM in the Storm Center on the campus of Yavapai College in Prescott.
