Volleyball Falls To South Mountain

The Lady Roughriders lost a tightly contested match last night, 27-30, 26-30, 27-30.

The Riders are now 5-9, 11-17. Nicki Wanninger played extremely well for YC leading the team in kills with 9. Brittney Strumer and Brittany Garcia added 7 each as well. Brittnee Eiler ran the offense setting up 27 assists.

The best aspect of the Riders game was defense last night, led by Stacia Wolff’s 15 digs. Nicki Wanninger and Brittany Garcia each had 13. The Roughriders have won 2 of their past 3 matches and are playing their best volleyball of the season.

The last home match will take place Friday night against EAC. The Riders are 5-3 at the Storm Center this season and look to send the sophomores off with one more victory. The match will be played in the Storm Center and will begin at 7:30 PM.
