Iveson at Selection of USA Softball
Only JC coach involved
Head softball coach Stacy Iveson has been chosen as 1 of 6 coaches across the country to select the USA Softball Team that will participate in the 2008 World Olympics held in Beijing, China. The selection camp is taking place in Chula Vista, California this week with 32 players vying for 18 spots on the national squad.
“I am honored to be among these coaches,” said Iveson. “I have learned so much from my experience with USA softball over the past two years.”
The camp will run for a week with the final team being announced on Monday, September 17th. This could possibly be one of the last camps of this type to be held, because softball will not be an Olympic sport after the 2008 games. 2016 is the first possible date for a return of the sport to the Olympics.
